FAQ

Telephone Service FAQs

Q:

Can I keep my current telephone number?

A:

Yes, IPacket allows you to keep your current telephone number, or we can assign a new telephone number for your service. Keeping your current number requires that you sign a Letter of Authorization to permit IPacket to "Port" your telephone number to our network. Additionally, Number Portability requires that you provide proof of ownership of your telephone number - in the form of a current telephone bill or invoice.

Q:

If I do not subscribe to Unlimited Long Distance to US and Canada, does your service provide a Long Distance Toll Restriction?

A:

Yes - Our standard Hospitality Local telephone service restricts all forms toll and reverse party charging to your account. You will never get an additional unexpected charge on your local telephone invoice.

Q:

Does your Unlimited Long Distance include Hawaii and Alaska?

A:

We currently cannot include Hawaii or Alaska in our unlimited package.

Q:

Do I need to contact my current carrier to cancel service once we switch to IPacket Networks Telephone Service?

A:

Under some scenarios, your previous service may automatically be cancelled once you switch to IPacket Networks. However, we advise that under all circumstances, the customer contact their previous carrier to cancel service once IPacket notifies you of our service activation.

Q:

Why is the charge for Unlimited Long Distance so low? Is there a catch?

A:

No catch! It's no secret that competition in the long distance market has made it cheaper to call Canada, than it is to call a nearby city within your State. IPacket Networks buys its long distance minutes in bulk and passes the savings along to our customers to create an amenity for your property and your guests.

Q:

I subscribe to IPacket's Unlimited Long Distance option for calls within continental US and Canada. What happens if a call is made to other countries?

A:

Our standard treatment is to block any unauthorized call type that would lead to additional, unexpected charges to our customers. If you subscribe to our Unlimited Long Distance to US and Canada, we will block all other types of long distance and reverse party toll calls, including International calls.

Q:

When service is activated, is it necessary for your service technician to enter our property to verify the installation?

A:

Yes, we prefer to confirm operation of all new customers. The best way to do this is to enter the property and verify operation. In the event that this is not available to us, alternate service activation procedures may be followed. If access is not available, please contact IPacket Sales at sales@ipacket.com to make alternate arrangements.

Billing FAQs

Q:

I like the 12 month price lock guarantee. What will happen to the price after the initial 12 month term?

A:

IPacket Networks operates on the philosophy of providing a feature-rich hospitality telephone service for less than our competitors charge for their basic level service. While we cannot predict if our price will be higher or lower after 12 months, we can say that we will not be undersold for like services.

Q:

What additional fees are added on to my bill at the end of the service period?

A:

IPacket's product offerings includes most of the miscellaneous fees that are explicitly charged by other carriers at the end of their invoice. The only additional fees that we add are Florida state and county communications taxes. Otherwise, there are no hidden fees.

Q:

What forms of payment does IPacket accept?

A:

Because of our low rates and interest in conservation, IPacket invoices on a quarterly basis. Payments are accepted via the US Postal system, however we encourage customers to make their payments electronically. Please contact our Billing department to arrange for auto-draft or recurring credit card charging billing@ipacketnet.com
